TREND ALERT

Luxe Layers

With its sunny, golden afternoons and cool, crisp evenings this time of year calls for...luxe layers! While dressing for the transition from summer-feeling days into brisk, chilly nights (let's be honest, sometimes it's downright cold) can occasionally feel like a challenge, this season's stunning staples turn it into an opportunity. The mix-and-match weights and silhouettes make it easy to layer a base (curve hugging slim-knit jerseys), a light layer (a classic or textured knit), and an outer layer (a structured cape, jacket, or brushed wool coat depending on the forecast) without feeling bulky or burdened.

PEARLS OF WISDOM WITH BETSY PEPE

Show Up & Dress Up

While our Susie Ponte Pants and our Quilted Jersey Sweatshirt Dress are will always be in heavy rotation, this season we're celebrating showing up—and dressing up! Luckily, our fabulous leathers, midis, and maxis are show-stopping stylish without compromising comfort. No matter what's on your client's agenda, elevating your personal style above and beyond leggings is as easy as slipping into your favorite Pearl piece and, as we all know, the right outfit turns any occasion into a party. No better way to celebrate every day than to dress up!

An Epic Fete

TO LAUNCH THE NEW CAPSULE

What do you get when you pair two Dynamic Dallas Style-preneurs who absolutely love to party? A fantastically fabulous fête, of course! We were thrilled to kick off the launch of our Lele Sadoughi x Pearl By Lela Rose mini capsule collection with a Lele + Lela-style shindig at the Lela Dallas flagship—and the two hostesses with the mostess pulled out all of the stylish stops. From the pop-up Botolino gelato station (with Pearl sprinkles, natch) to the bubbly Ramona Spritz bar, from the adorable photo booth to the mysterious "lipsology" readings, this felt like a real "Pearl Party" in the best possible way. We LOVED seeing how the guests were styling their stunning headbands *almost* as much as we LOVED seeing all of you who came out to celebrate with us. Cheers to fabulous collaborations—and more to come!

TRUNK SHOW TRIUMPH

Mobile, AL

While we love a good mother/daughter Pearl Girl combo, Sue Gunn, our Mobile, AL Pearl Stylist, recently shared THE sweetest Trunk Show Triumph: three generations of new Pearl Girls shopping together! These intergenerational style mavens—a Grandmother, Mother, and Daughter—all found beautiful outfits that fit their own personal styles to a T. The Grandmother said she was so excited about the shopping experience they all had together that she was going to treat them all to their outfits—needless to say, that was one happy group of women leaving the trunk show! Seeing three generations able to find pieces that spoke to each of them at their various stages on their style journeys just goes to show how fabulously gorgeous, timeless, and versatile the Pearl line is. As Sue said, "It made my heart smile!"

Road To Supper Club with Courtney Denby
This month we're proud to feature Elizabeth Gumb, our amazing Pearl Stylist from Charleston, SC!

Elizabeth set a goal for getting to Supper Club when we were all in North Carolina this summer for our Pearl Girl Social gathering! She strategically planned her season to include a fall and winter show. When I saw that her units had surpassed 250 with the conclusion of her show and noticed significant units being added after her show I reached out to ask more about what she was doing! I heard so many original and solid ideas for any Pearl Girl who wants a seat at Lela’s dinner table for Supper Club on January 10! See the bullets below that will work whether you are having a winter show or working to keep your sales high and your returns low.

- Elizabeth, who was tracking her sales more closely to keep track of progress to Supper Club, discovered how useful the Reports/Sales History report was for providing terrific customer service following a show. She sorts her clients July 1 to current by Product Description and then she can see a listing of groups of clients who bought the same item. The list is sorted A-Z by color which allows her to suggest additional items that would go with what the client purchased. For example, if she sees 15 clients bought the navy Stephanie pant, she can find items available in their size.

- Once Elizabeth has her list of items to suggest for clients, she creates an Order in Process that she screenshots and texts. This shows the client the price of the items and the total if they buy all of them. She also follows up with an editorial shot or a still life of those items so the client can have a closer look.

-To continue adding items after her show, Elizabeth keeps a list of clients who have Wish Lists and she checks for those items daily with her coffee. She is now selling more & more of those items now that Fall orders have shipped and returns are coming back to NY.

-To keep returns low, Elizabeth tries to find a client to buy items that another client returns when the size is the same. She has dropped off items and texted photos of items and most often the new client is thrilled to have immediate gratification. Sometimes Elizabeth offers 10% off to encourage the purchase of the return and sometimes she doesn’t have to do so.

-Elizabeth also kept a list of people who stopped by her show on the way to pilates and said they loved a certain item and would come back but did not ultimately come back (she sells on the top floor of a pilates studio where she said "at least 30 sets of eyes see the clothes every day." She is now texting this list with photos of the items to let the client know that she missed her at the show but the item is still available in her size.

-If you are not following @edited_by_elizabeth on Instagram you absolutely should do so! Elizabeth said that her Social videos and posts are responsible for most of her new clients and she is continually selling items sight unseen.

-This last idea will only work if you still have a show ahead of you this season, but it is too creative not to share! Elizabeth puts up a sign in the elevator and in the entrance to the pilates studio that has a QR code (and we all know how to use those now because all restaurants use them for menus) that clients can scan to schedule an appointment through YouCanBookMe.com. She said she gets close to 10 appointments from those two signs each show.

I hope some of these ideas are helpful to you! Elizabeth’s positive, can-do attitude really blew me away and it became very evident why she has been so successful this season. Best of all, Elizabeth ended our conversation focused on the fun: "I am having the best time! It's awesome! I love being creative with Pearl!"
