Hello Pearl Stylists,
Happy Summer, Pearl Stylists! We LOVED seeing all of your gorgeous faces during Pearl Preview...the days of Zoom are finally behind us (fingers crossed!) and we absolutely cannot wait to gather together in person at the next Pearl Preview in January.
We just wrapped our shoot for the Fall 2021 Collection in gorgeous, sunny California. We loved seeing the clothes come to life in these stunning settings and think you'll love the editorials as much as we do!
I am back in Jackson Hole this summer and excited to finally play hostess again. I've been dreaming of good times with great friends (and party outfits, of course) and I'm sure you're all feeling the same way. Hiking in the morning, design meetings in the afternoons, and long, lazy meals with friends and family at night - of course sipping my favorite cocktails.
I will be cheering you all on this summer as you launch the Fall collection and am so looking forward to traveling to several events myself. Can't wait to see how you style this collection and what your customers fall in love with!

While we design every collection to be perfectly interchangeable, we've been loving the head-to-toe monochromatic looks we've been seeing popping up on runways and city streets lately. We'll always love how chic and timeless classic tones look en masse, and this season we're especially drawn to the subtle sophistication of matching ice blue and powerfully lovely sleek and iconic black suiting. WE ARE LAUNCHING A PEARL SUPPER CLUB!
The very first Supper Club—an intimate dinner with Lela for our highest performing stylists—will meet at Lela’s Tribeca apartment on January 10, 2022. Invitations will be sent in early December to allow time to plan your travel to NYC in advance of Pearl Preview, which launches January 11th. All Pearl Stylists—Pearl teams included—who sell 175 net units in the Fall/Winter season will receive an invitation. We hope to see you all there!

COCKTAIL SPOTLIGHT
Sundown Spritz
1 OZ. MEZCAL, 1/4 OZ. AGAVE SYRUP, 3/4 OZ. APEROL, 1/4 OZ. GRAPEFRUIT JUICE, 4 OZ. PROSECCO, GRAPEFRUIT TWIST
Fill a cocktail shaker three-quarters full of ice. Add mezcal, agave, Aperol & grapefruit juice and shake until chilled. Rub the grapefruit twist around the rim of a wine glass then squeeze the twist over the glass before dropping it in. Add ice cubes and strain the shaker into the glass, topping with prosecco. Cheers!
PEARL SOCIAL GATHERINGS
Fall Kick Off in NYC
We loved hosting our NYC area stylists for a golden hour meetup to kick off the fall season! We gathered at the Pearl Penthouse above Lela Rose HQ for a lovely, easy, casual evening of fashion, friends, and fun—a perfectly "Pearl" time if we do say so ourselves. Lela was delighted to be back in fine form—setting the table with napkins crafted from our exclusive summer plaid crepe, breaking out her favorite mixed glassware and openwork-lace linens, and whipping up delicious drinks for all. Cocktails, conversation, and simply being together under the twinkling lights of the New York skyline, all decked out in our favorite looks—it's everything we love about Pearl and we're so glad we get to share it with you.
TRUNK SHOW TRIUMPH
Vail, Colorado
Cathy Caldwell and Nancy Woodhull, AKA Denver Pearl, wisely took the Fall collection on the road to Vail for a two-day event. They secured a space at the Vail Golf Club and used some clever on-the-ground marketing techniques to maximize attendance: they invited all of their local friends and put up strategic Pearl signage in key locations around town. The results were clear: everyone loved it! New and returning Pearl Girls flocked to their party, came back for more, and even sent their friends. Cathy & Nancy are following up with thank you notes and sending out feelers for potential future Pearl Pop-up hostess opportunities for a select stylish few. This simple, innovative, and successful two-day pop up in Vail was a TRUNK SHOW TRIUMPH and we wish Denver Pearl the best for their Fall show in Denver!

Lela's Festive Fourth Of July
Whether she's designing a new collection or whipping up a spread for a festive soiree, Lela's biggest inspiration has always been COLOR. With a Red, White, and Blue "salad", French breakfast radishes with savory dragonfruit spread, roasted beet and stonefruit salad with fresh mint, and—of course—her famous Pimento Cheese and Tomato Pie (recipe below!), this 4th of July was the perfect opportunity to get festive in living color! The glorious bounty of summer harvests + summer blossoms on display and good friends and family gathered together outside to celebrate is the height of summer fun.

Lela's Summer Supper:
Pimento Cheese Tomato Pie
Pairing the "Paté of the South" with the season's perfectly ripe tomatoes makes an effortlessly indulgent main for summer entertaining. Lela's recipes for homemade Savory Pastry + Pimento below (it's worth it!) but store-bought will work fine too.
INGREDIENTS:
PASTRY DOUGH
8-10 BEEFSTEAK TOMATOES
2-3 CUPS PIMENTO CHEESE
Directions:
The morning of your dinner, slice and lightly salt tomatoes, letting them release their juices on paper towels for at least 3 hours.
When you're ready to bake, preheat your oven to 375.
Press your pastry dough into a round baking dish, I like to allow the top of the dough to organically fold a little bit over the sides of the dish. It's gorgeous, and the buttery crisp edges brown up so nicely—divine!
Nestle the tomatoes in a layer onto the dough (overlapping is fine) and top with pimento cheese.
Bake for 40 minutes or until pimento cheese is bubbly. Heaven!
FOR LELA'S SAVORY PASTRY DOUGH:
1 CUP FLOUR
1/2 CUP CORNMEAL
1/4 TEASPOON SALT
10 TABLESPOON COLD BUTTER, CUT INTO CUBES
1/2 CUP GRATED CHEDDAR CHEESE
Pulse flour, cornmeal, and salt in a food processor. Add butter and cheese and pulse 3-5 times.
Add 1 tablespoon of ice water at a time (up to 7) pulsing occasionally until dough begins to hold its form.
Remove dough from processor and gently form into a flat ball. Wrap in plastic and chill for 2 hours.
Roll out when ready on a cool surface if possible. Pro tip: rolling the dough on parchment paper makes it easier to transfer the dough into your baking dish.
FOR LELA'S PIMENTO CHEESE:
2 BLOCKS SHARP CHEDDAR, FRESHLY GRATED
1 BLOCK CREAM CHEESE, ALLOWED TO REST UNTIL ROOM TEMP
3/4 CUPS DUKE'S MAYONNAISE
~1/4 VIDALIA OR YELLOW ONION, GRATED
2 JARS DICED PIMENTO, DRAINED
TABASCO TO TASTE
Let cream cheese rest in a bowl until it reaches room temperature. Add cheese and mayonnaise and mix to incorporate. Stir in half of onion (with juice) and pimento. At this point I like to taste to get a feel for how pungent the onion is. Add more if necessary, keeping in mind onion will intensify while flavors meld. Add in a few healthy dashes of Tabasco to taste.
