Inside the collection
With an emphasis on texture and dimension, the Fall 2016 Lela Rose Collection focuses on separates, layering and clean lines. Playing with the idea of modern suiting and a luxe approach to evening separates, the collection is both sleek and feminine.
A bell sleeve is distinguished throughout in textiles ranging from vine jacquard to falling leaf fil coupe. Floating metallic filament is seen in separates and dresses while oxidized, metallic quills are elegantly hand-embroidered with exciting effect on gowns and outerwear. Geometric and graphic botanics can be seen in the collection’s prints, embroideries, and jewelry details. Earrings and necklaces are composed of natural materials such as wood, smoky quart and leather detail, while clutches are offered in modern combinations of wood and Lucite with pearl and metal accents.
A soft palette sets the tone for a transitional mood from day to night, drawing upon shades of oxblood, indigo, dusted pink, fawn and ice. Moss is introduced as a new neutral for the collection, highlighted in key looks including embossed silk gazar separates and evening looks. Statement coats in luxe materials include sheared mohair, double-faced reversible cashmere, and felted wool with unexpected details.
