OCTOBER 1, 2014

Fall is one of my favorite seasons in New York City. The air gets a little crisper (I’m talking crisp and comfortable – nothing like the Polar Vortex come January) the leaves are changing and it’s the perfect time to transition from that summer cocktail to something a little more dark and cozy. My favorite touch about this recipe is the fresh maple syrup – it adds a little sweet to your spice! Enjoy!

1 ounce maple syrup
1 ounce lime juice, or more to taste
4 ounces bourbon
2 ounces cold ginger beer

Combine syrup, lime juice and bourbon in a small pitcher or cocktail shaker. Pour over ice in a rocks glass and top with ginger beer. Depending on the sweetness of the ginger beer, you may want to add a little more lime juice. Garnish with a lime slice.
